Shhh, it's a secret!!
You didn't hear it from me but ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) obsidianagirl's muse has been reawakened due to the shiny Halloween Castle episode and she is working on Flight of the Albatross to be updated.
She's made some changes to the first 3 chapters which I will be betaing and reposting so we can enjoy it before it continues on.

Lost and found
Now, they say fairies are the ones who steal things that you lose in your house.
Well, the neighbor has a fairy ring growing in his front yard, he didn't know what it was and he didn't cut it down when he mowed this morning. He looked it up on the internet and then I come waltzing over going, can I take a picture of it. He laughed and said it was funny I knew what it was (he doesn't know I'm a witch) and that I wanted to take a picture of it.
So, now I have several pictures of it, taken in sunlight and I plan to waltz back on over after dark and hope to woo the wee folk out with some bread and wine. They'll be celebrating that they avoided death from that loud, bladed machine that chopped all the grass down.
So, all of a sudden I find my engagement ring which I had hidden because I had spent to much time watching It Takes A Thief on the Discover channel months ago. Also found all 8 of the Sabbat cards my friend send me last year from Midsummer (Litha) to this Midsummer and she started again this year so I have all 10 cards so far and hope to collect them all. :D
All in all, besides the cleaning which allowed for the finding of these little gems, CLEANING was done. Not a lot but enough!

Writing
Trying to write an original story. Oh the agony. Need to write some more Mal/River on Broken Promises. Unfortuntely RL decided to rear it's ugly head and make my life more interesting than I like it.

Author's Note: Thanks to alsunwunderland for beta’ing this chapter and for the help. Also thanks to the unknown user and tweatyhobbs for both commenting on Chapter 9 within days of each other, thus forcing me to revive this from the dead.
This chapter isn’t fundamentally necessary for the story but for some reason I feel I need it. Maybe it’s because I want to show Mal’s slowly dawning realization what River means to him. At the very least, I found it funny as all hell.
Feedback: is shiny and always encouraged, both the good and the bad.

SNOW!
For those of you up in the northern climate, snow is not a big deal, more of a bother really most of the time. I know, I use to live in Michigan, but it snowed tonight in HOUSTON, TX.
Seriously, how cool is that. It's usually warm enough for shorts this time of year and we have beautiful snow on the ground.
The husband was giddy and everyone was enjoying it. Now, if it would only melt and freeze and then we'd have an ICE day. Can't get a snow day because well, we never get enough but I had enough for a snow/grass angel. LOL

Greetings from Houston (or what's left of it!)
Okay, just so everyone knows, I survived. I know most of you have been waiting desperately for news that I had survived. Why, because who else would read your fics and obsessively comment on them in a kind and loving way. (I think I have hurricane dementia. LOL. I just made that up!)
Actually I slept through the hurricane. I proved a theory for my mom in proving that her kids can sleep through anything. :D
Anyhow, no power but my husband's work got power back late last night and since he's the IT guy there, I'm sitting at their office using their internet to get a fix and catch up on my MUST reads, while he is busy restarting their servers. Small problems, so we've been here a while.
Anyway, we're staying out in Katy (West Houston, for those of you not in the know) with his parents. Thankfully, I love his mother and step-father and so it hasn't been that big of a deal yet, but it's only been a few days so far. Hopefully it won't last a month or things could get interesting.
Hopefully power will return back at my home soon but isn't likely. Most of the city is without power.
I'll be checking me e-mail whenever I can, so drop me a line. Send me a funny because I'm not working so no $$$ coming in for me to go shopping with. *sigh*
See pretty icon because well, the city doesn't look that good right now. Hell, it could never look as good as Hugh without shirt and pants. *wanders off to drool*

Twilight Zone Moment
The freakiest thing just happened.
My husband and I were laying in our bed watching Dr. Who on the SciFi channel. The remote sitting on my nightstand. When all of a sudden the TV shows the DVR menu options to watch one of our recorded shows. It proceeds to scroll thru to the Andromeda Strain, that hubby recorded, and proceeds to play.
I suggest that maybe our roommate might be in the living room and wants to watch it and since our bedroom TV is linked to the one there. So, Jim (hubby) goes and checks and says no one is watching it and the TV is off.
He asks me if I was touching it and I swore that I was not, that it was sitting on my nightstand with nothing touching it.
That was the freakiest thing ever. Jim suggested that somebody else didn't want to watch Dr. Who with us and I said "It's my TV dammit!"

I worked 8 hours and then came home and cooked a spaghetti dinner for my husband, our friend, Chris, our roommate and myself.
It was totally delicious but now I'm so tired I can barely function and I have a Mal/River fic to beta.
Unfortunately it's a revision of the first umpteen chapters of Flight of the Albatross by obsidianagirl, but it's been like FOREVER since anyone's probably read it, that it will seem like a new fic. LOL.
Hmm, I think I'll just take a shower and go to bed and beta tomorrow.

How to revive your muse 101
A recent visit with obsidianagirl and her pleads for me to write some M/R shiny goodness and especially the epic fic has had me looking for my M/R muse.
Needless to say she's been rather difficult to find. She's very good at hiding, but then I went looking at some old archived items I have over on Google Docs and I found a little fic I had started with her a while back to try and revive her M/R muse with.
We had it going back and forth and well, it just died. She had no interest in writing on it.
So, as I'm rereading it, I'm thinking this is some good shit. It's pointless M/R smut but it was incomplete.
Then I felt a tap on my shoulder and turn and voila, there was my muse and she's all whisper, whisper, write this.
Hmm, I should have know some simple M/R smut would help revive her but I have a feeling it will take more than one piece to do it. *dramatic sigh* Oh the things I have to do for my fic.
Also, currently waiting on hubby to find me video ripping software because I have a video I HAVE to make and it was all his idea too!

At work!
I'm playing hooky at the moment for work. I'm a terrible employee but then, the work I'm actually doing is just "busy work".
You know the stuff. It's what you do to fill your up your hours when you don't have any honest to goodness work to be done.
Other than that, I've been sneaking a little fic reading amongst my *cough* labor.
Hope everyone is well. Me, I'm just a tired girl who doesn't have enough time to write. *sigh*
